My parents flipped one of them over and are cooking them.
I'm just afraid of looking at them still moving their legs until we eat them.

One's in the fridge in a box, covered with ice, but moving its legs slowly. Scares me to the bone.

So, have you ever eaten or cooked a big crab? What was it like? And what did it cost?

Red Lobster has a wonderful platter of snow crab, lobster tails, scallops, etc that taste absolutely DELICIOUS, but I pay something like 20 bucks so I don't have to see the poor wiggling things get killed. If I see it die, I can't eat it. I don't slaughter my own cows for hamburger, yet I love steak. As a child, I remember my brother slaughtering rabbits for the supper table. I had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on those days. LOL

My suggestion...stay out of the kitchen until they are on the plates and ready to eat. Crabmeat is tender, juicy, and delicious. If it's your first crab (which it sounds like), be sure to eat it while it's still hot-lukewarm gets rubbery, avoid the body meat-it tastes more like fish, and have your parents teach you how to crack the leg and pull it apart properly to get all the meat out in one shot so you don't have to dig it out. MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm...

Blessings

it was yummy and prices vary according to location and availability on most crustaceans. in NJ, we are near the sea and have a variety of crabs, especially blue crab, and so we do not pay as much as, say, someone in utah.
