This might help you....

Be sure to discuss your morning sickness and potential relief with your doctor.

Do you have a favorite remedy or have one that did absolutely nothing for you?? Why not share your thoughts with other morning sickness sufferers!

General Remedies:

* Avoid warm places as heat can increase the nausea feelings.
* Take naps during the day (but not right after eating). Tiredness plays a big part in morning sickness.
* Get enough sleep at night.
* Get out of bed slowly in the morning.
* Try eating plain crackers or dry cereal before you get out of bed in the morning.

Smells:

* Open windows or turn on exhaust fans when cooking and after meals.
* Cooking in the microwave usually produces less odors.
* Silly as it sounds, carry a handkerchief with a few drops of a non nausea causing essential oil (lemon for example) in it and breath through it if you can't get away from the smell that is bothering you.

Food and Drink:

* Avoid greasy or spicy foods as they often cause nausea or heartburn.
* Eat what you want when you want it. Your cravings will not lead you the wrong way.
* Have frequent protein snacks. (Low fat meats and seafood, nuts, eggs and beans are high protein.)
* Eat smaller meals every two hours or so.
* Eating something salty before a meal can help you "make it through" a meal.
* Do not drink fluids with your meals.
* Non caffeinated teas like peppermint and ginger can help calm nausea.
* Drink small amounts of fluids regularly though out the day to avoid dehydration.
* Do not skip meals if you can help it.
* Avoid spicy and fried food - both eating and smelling it can increase your nausea.
* Cold food may have less nausea inducing smells associated with them.

Supplements:

* Try taking your prenatals later in the day.
* Talk to your doctor about:
o Vitamin B6 - 50 mg. daily. Vitamin B6 has been shown to help with pregnancy induced nausea.
o Ginger capsules: 250 mg. three times daily. Ginger has long been associated with alleviating nausea. (Remember drinking ginger ale when you felt sick when you were little?)
o Ask your doctor if you can stop taking your Prenatals temporarily to see if the nausea diminishes. You may still need to take a Folic Acid supplement to help protect your baby.
o Talk to your doctor about not taking iron supplements unless you are anemic. Iron supplements can be hard for your stomach to deal with.

I am now 27 weeks into pregnacy number 2 and i suffered both times from morning sickess. My current pregnancy seems so much worse. I just couldn't pull myself round. It lasted from about 5 weeks to 17 or so and i was fed up. Try gaviscon tablets, not great but worth a shot, not too much water, my midwife suggested ice lollies?? I didn't find a cure and just had to put up with it. The only thing that helped was changing my routine, going out for dinner, not making decisions and taking my mind off the pregnancy. But thats easier said than done! Stay positive, it won't last forever and just thing of the lovely surprise you'll get at the end...it'll all be worth it. I know what you are going through hun, keep smiling.

I was/am the exact same way I had to go to the e.r. twice due to dehydration. They tried three different medications. Finally reglan works. I take it faithfully. Im still nauseas but im not throwing up. Talk to your dr about maybe some meds if you're comfortable with that. I had to they said the benefits outweigh the risks. I understand where you are coming from. I get pretty down cuz i feel so sick all the time. Hang in there and good luck!!

Try drinking a warming cup of Ginger tea. It will soothe the nausea. Or eat a couple of ginger biscuits.

Poor you, my sister had this problem too, although it will all be worth it when you have your beautiful baby in your arms. I think it's supposed to help if you eat something like crackers whilst still in bed in the morning it's supposed to help. Hope it gets better for you, poor thing. And good luck with the baby. xxx.

try and nibble on dry toast or a ginger biscuit, my wife finds that drinking a cup of tes with 2 sugars in it helps with the dizzy and sick feelings she gets. If your sickness is really bad then see your doctor as in extreme cases they can give you anti sickness tablets. good luck

I was this way and I had to get special prenatal vitamins prescribed to me to cut out the sickness and my midwife told me that if that didn't work then she would prescribe me some finagrin(sp?) so i would just see your dr and ask him/her what they think
