Honesty is the best policy is a great saying because it is true. I would tell her that you like her too much to "fake it and that you are attracted to her. You will never know unless you try. At least you will plant the seed and then maybe when she is finished with her emotions over your friend she will come to you. However be aware of the "rebound" so to speak.

Maybe if you can get her to realize that he's NOT WORTH IT (which he isn't, by the way) she'll start paying more attention to you. You should tell her that you like her a lot and will keep her really happy (unlike that loser she's trying to make jealous).
Sometimes women who are in love don't see the most obvious things even if it's right in front of their eyes. She'll fall in love with you if she's more in tune with what you're doing for her, and make sure you express (not only in words but MORE in actions) how you feel and sooner or later she'll realize that not being your REAL girlfriend will be the stupidist thing she can do because she'll miss out on YOU, and you obviously really like her!

my advice? talk to her. conversation is everything and she's ur bestfriend... show her that ur boyfriend material! and show her that ur 10 times more than he'll ever be.. you learn moore about her.. dont rush.. just be yourself.. and again.. talk to her tell her how you feel..
