I would advise you to:
1)Write down all the points you could debate on to support your statement
2)List out all the possible reasons that your opponent might give to support their statement
3)If possible,support your statement by giving evidence(Eg.newspaper reports)
(Eg.)Part-time employment during the school years is beneficial because students could earn allowance for themselves and could even pay for their school fees.They could have a better understanding about the importance of choosing the right job in the future and could better deal with stress in their career life.

Working during your time at school is beneficial because it gives you an insight into the world of careers /work/earning money.It expands your horizons and gives you independence,experience in work is crucial to understanding the science of the working communities.This is also connected to sociology.

I would suggest two things:
- Spend some time writing down your ideas on the subject at question in order to have something interesting to say.
- Study Schopenhauers rules of disputation - it's not about being right remember, it's about making everyone like you more than the other person!
