I have a big maths exam coming up and I'm really stuck...

I'm usually good with revising because I can remember facts and stuff easily but with maths its different!

I just can't get it all to stick in my head. I'm really bad at memorising formulas and that kind of thing.

What can I do to remember it all?

make up songs to remember. put it to a beat! Picture the formula in your head. Write the formulas with your fingers in the air. There are many strategies you can use depending on your learning style, audio visual, hands on etc. record them on a player and listen to them when you are doing redundent tasks or excercising. Write them in shaving cream! read problems and then write the formula and not worry about answering the problems just yet. Teach them to another person!

Well my dad use to help me with maths and what I usually did was a couple of weeks before a big exam or test I went over all the formulas every day for an hour.... So by the time the it was time to write exams I was ready... I did that with everything.....

If you know you have a big test coming up in a months time start preparing asap don´t wait till a week before.. I know it sucks but hey at the end you do it all for your future..

Just go over it a couple of times a day, you will start memorizing it quickly....

Hope it helps

well im a student at the university doing statistics so the best thing for u to be able to do math is that u should keep on revising it every day write down what u dont understand. then u should visit a lecturer and ask more. no that practise makes better is all about how prepared u a. one last thing is that you should join groups in order to discuss like tutorials groups.

dfische7 answers are really good - apparently if you say things out loud (as she suggests) the information goes back in your ear and because you're hearing it as well as reading it, it gets stored in a different place, so you have it in two area, so may be easier to recall - plus you'll have all those weird associations with shaving foam!

Relax and rest ,because you are overstressed.Put aside one hour a day to study. If you are tired you will not absorb knowledge. The mind is more receptive when you are not tired build up your study time gradually.
