I was just wondering if anyone could help me out on the name of her breathing problem. The reason I am asking is because I just had an attack that was similar to hers and was wanting to know that way I can discuss this with my doctor! Please help me!

They never say the name of Satine's illness, but it's widely considered to be tuberculosis. . . which back then, at least in America, was called consumption. It's very unlikely you have TB. . . but if you're having symptoms like hers (such as coughing up blood) you owe it to yourself and anyone you might infect to go to the doctor.

If you are coughing blood then i suggest you leave Yahoo Answers alone and get it checked by your doc. TB is highly contagious and lethal if left unchecked.

I'm not sure what she had . but you should go to your Dr. soon , very soon , since you are couching up blood . , just tell the Dr. all your symptoms. hope you get better soon

it is T.B and it is infectious but they neglected in the movie i dont know why poor ewin but take it from me i am a doctor i swear but dont be paranoed

I think it was tuberculosis....that's just a guess.
