Check with your local YMCA. Most run summer programs and start signing up children for them in January and February. Another good option would be the Boys and Girls Club.

Summer camp. You have to enroll them early, like around now, or else a lot of the better programs are full and your children will be idle during the summer months. Idle minds are a playground for the devil. Remember look into it immeadiately, by April it may be too late. You can check the schools and churches for information about good camps for your childrens age groups, and information about something suitable for your income range if not free summer camps.

I sent my 2 older kids to an Arts & Crafts day camp run by our local municipality in the town park. It cost me $25/ child, which was very inexpensive considering the cost of day care. My youngest was only 3 that summer, so she went to the sitter for the day. Most areas offer day camps in the summer now and the larger the community you live in the more choices you should have.

Try YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, a daycare (ask friends that might have recommendations), there are always summercamps, or ones that are day camps (many of them revolving around sports). Look up camps in the newspaper or if your county has a parks program of some type.

I worked at YMCA summer day camp. Lots of fun....not that expensive. $100 a week with swimming twice a week and a field trip every week. I also worked in their after school program, and that was great, too.

there are TONS of summer camps, clubs, activities, and things to keep them busy. Check with the ymca, and sometimes they start advertising early so you can get your kids signed up, there is also vacation bible school.

If they are old enough [older than 12] let them stay home if they feel safe & are mature enough.
Or go to a friend's house or check local YMCA.
