Sin is a humanoid idea. We created religion and morals, and as each new generation explores these boundaries the previous generations will naturally think of their behaviour as sinful.

People in the 1920s would have thought of the free-loving hippy days of the 1970s as abominable, whereas most people today think of them as rather prudent.

It is up to each individual to explore the boundaries of their own morals, and this as a whole can only make society more accepting- and that can only be good news.

There is a really famouse quote by a philosopher and Im kicking myself right now for not rememebring who said it. But basicly its rather long and talks about how bad the youth of today are and how much worse they are than the prevouse generation and how they would neve have done such awful things and how bad the world now is. At the end of this long speach you realise this was writen over 2000 years ago. Basicaly everyone things the generation after them are so awful but in reality we are the same.

Yes. We are constantly eating fish that is not allowed in Leviticus as well as letting our children live after mouthing off to us. Don't forget we sell and wear clothes with 2 different types of thread and I haven't sold my daughter into slavery for a few weeks.

Look, if you want to knock a certain group and since you are in the LGBT questions now I assume it is this group you are referring to, I suggest you actually read your bible instead of letting off the wall preachers brain wash you.

Jesus said he who has not sinned cast the first stone he didn't say anything about homosexuality.

Good luck

Times change - increased exposure of all that is wrong in the world in the media; improved education resulting in free thinking individuals... - Values (or a lack of them) don't.

Each generation is as bad as the last, the only thing is the environment we're in allows us to know it.

I'm not sure of your use of the word "sinful", but I do feel that we're becoming more and more desensitised. What was utterly taboo forty years ago is relatively commonplace now - like bikini's for example.
So define "sinful"...

No. Just each generation thinks they're more wholesome than the next!

Generations stay the same but they have much more time to study the media and find out what's goin' on.....

More sinful.

I heard an awesome example of this in a Men's Tuesday Night Bible Study at Calvary Chapel... the talk was on First Chair, Second Chair and Third Chair Christians...

The First Chair Christian is like... Billy Grahm (for example) He is right-on with the Lord... an awesome evangelist.

The Second Chair Christian... Billy's son (for example) is born... the next generation... The son may be only half as energetic and faithful as the father... Just like so many examples in the Bible in the Old Testament and New Testament...

The Third Chair Christian... Billy's grandson (for example) is born... the next generation... he may not believe in the Lord at all.

So... which chair am I sitting in right now? Which chair are you sitting in right now? Do we need to move from 3 to 2... to get closer to the Lord... Perhaps we are at 2 and need to rededicate ourselves to the Lord and move back in to the First Chair.

Remember how God protected His children as they left captivity: His cloud covered them from heat; pillars of fire protected them from the chariots sent to kill them; Holy Manna was provided in the desert for their food; the leather in their shoes did not wear out; their clothes did not rot; water was provided from the rocks... yet at the end of the wandering, they FORGOT His works in just two generations... Wow...

I pray this helps you.

Judging others is a "no-no" and your belief in Sin is not relevant and inapplicable to those who do not follow your belief.

I think it depends on your upbringing and the values you adopt and use through your life. It's up to you how you want to be, only you can change it.
