very simple, take a period table !
you see, the electronic configuration of Li is 1s2 2s1 or in a simpler way [He]2s1 because [He] configuration is 1s2
so draw a point in the middle than draw s shell (just a ring) with 2 electrons, then draw a bigger circle (the 2s shell) and draw 1 electron !
standard sequence of shell for the hydrogenoid atom is 2,2,6,2,6,10,2,6,10,14,2,6,10,14,and so on...
