When you find a job while here on a tourist visa, your employer will arrange your residence visa and labour card. Some companies hire people and have them work on tourist visa during "probation". This is against the Labour Law. All costs regarding the residence visa (visa costs, medical exam, translation etc) have to be on the employer and are not allowed to be deducted of the empoyee's salary. Obtaining a residence visa takes around 2-4 weeks.

In case you have to do the procedere by yourself, you'll need copies of passport, passport pictures, employment contract with salary shown, medical exam) and go to Immigration and Naturalization Department.

Had a lot of clients who are in dubai right now holding a tourist visa. A lot of jobs there but you need to be smart looking for it. If you are lucky, the employer will be the one who will process your employment visa.
