Would that be comparable to our future or our past?

It would mean that civilization got started in their part of the galaxy way before ours did. That perhaps in time we will have similar technology.

To me it means that this galaxy is not even in a thinkable distance from us that we could reach it in the past or the future. The only way it would be part of our future is if we could build a time machine, and the only way it could be culturally part of our past is if they were able to warp into our part of the galaxy.

So my answer would be No, it doesn't work with our space-time continuum, and it couldn't possibly because I'm a conservative geek even though I love sci-fi.

I think our great^(1000 times) grandparents or our great^(1000times) grandchildren would know that. It's just we don't/won't have a chance to ask them right ?
