Perhaps the only sane deep thinker of our days. Although I do not always agree with him, I must say that his arguements are well thought out and supported.
As a linguist of course he changed our antique thinking and brought it to the 20th century.

He's one of the few whose writings will still be read centuries from now...unless, of course, the neonazi-cons get their way and burn everything.
