I haven't been able to afford to holiday abroad for the last five year. But when I took my mum to the Canaries one year within about an hour of unpacking she said "I could stay here". She loved the week we spent there. Yes I am jealous when I hear colleague planning the hols knowing I won't have one (again).

Not sure why my calender tells me about Canadian or Mexican holidays. I couldn't care less about them. I live in the USA. The only holidays that SHOULD mean anything is ours to me.

Maybe I am confused as Holidays of any significant expense are not in my budget while in uni, but I certainly can wish others well who can so afford!
