Atheism is a religion. If you mean by the word "religion," Christianity, then that is still incorrect. I say that politely. Christianity is a relationship, one-on-one, with the Creator, God Himself, with Christ Jesus being the mediator between God & man. Of course, all you'll receive here is opinions, so I'll opine mine. It takes more faith to believe in atheism than in Christianity. We all have a god that we serve. Some may not think they serve a God, but they do. Even "self" is a god. Atheism is a religion, secularism is a religion; whatever you give your heart to, whatever you're sold-out too, whatever you believe is your religion & it fashions your whole life. There's a thing in all of us, not one of us do not have it, it's a question - who am ? where did I come from? is this all there is? could there really be a god? what happens when I die? My opinion & my answer is Yes, there is a God. A Creator God. Someone who knows our inward thoughts, our heart & it's motives & intents, what we've endured, & how we think. That's why He has so much mercy on us. Lovingly I say this - the choice we make in THIS LIFE will determine where we spend eternity. Grace abounds to mankind these days, but like in the days of Noah, the day comes when the door will shut & no man can enter. I choose to believe in THIS LIFE that I have been created, that I'm loved & that there's a plan for my life. I pray to a God that has ears & can hear, who has eyes & can see, & who has a mouth & He speaks to me. Unlike all other gods who have ears but can't hear, eyes that can't see & a mouth that can't speak. One last LOVING THING I WILL SAY. I believe in heaven & hell . I also believe that there are NO UNBELIEVERS, of the God of the Universe & His resurrected Son Jesus who was born & who died for us & who is risen, in hell. Hell is full of believers. But...here's the clincher, God made a way of escape for us, for all of us. He sent His Son to pay our debt so that we could be free & live eterally with Him. Just like us, we have children, one goes right, one goes wrong. You still love both of them, but you can't make the one doing wrong do right. You can't make the one love you. We have our own will & that's the ingredient that God put in us - CHOICE. No one wants to beat a child to make them love you. You want your children to love you because of who you are & BECAUSE THEY WANT TO LOVE YOU. You can't MAKE THEM LOVE YOU. As with God, He holds out His hand of salvation, we take it or we don't. His mercy will be there for you on your last breath, but I would presume, it would be kinda of hard to believe all of this in just a few seconds after having lived a life of unbelief. Just know that there's is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus & WHOSOEVER calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. I'm a WHOSOEVER & so are you. I sure hope you can see my sincerity & love because I sure don't deserve one thing that God has done for me, NOT ONE. He just does it because He loves me. So simple, yet so hard to understand & receive. God bless you so much.

Its kind of funny that this country was actually founded on religous beliefs. Now days you say the word Jesus, and you're instantly labeled as some kind of fanatic extremist. Weird huh? At the same time you get on a plane, and a middle eastern man wearing a turban boards I bet....well....you get the picture. I say that religion is a touchy subject and always will be. But outdated? I dont think so. Its just really pathetic when people acting out their own will, try to say that they are doing God's work.

"discuss"... i feel like i'm back in class.
we can't call religion an outdated constitution. since the atheists are a minority in the world most developments contributing to moving us forward were by theists. nothing stops a theist from moving forward, they can accept facts and move on like anybody else.
the problem is the extremists who refuse to accept anything that does not tally with some narrow minded views, and stall everything at times. fanatical following is an outdated constitution, but being religious or not is mostly irrelevant to moving forward.

i think there is a big plan and if we knew where to look and what to look for we could figure it out. i think our souls or energies or whatever decided on this plan when we were all together at that point before everything expanded apart and eventually the cohesiveness of matter will bring us all together again. is there a big guy? i'm saying yes, yes there is, because i'm inherently afraid on some deep dark level to say there isn't.....the way of science is the logical one, but religion has become so ingrained in some of us that the day it is completely obsolete just might never come...does this make sense?

i'm a Christian yet i think of what we call "faith" is purely silliness. I study the Bible and have self belief in God yet don't get caught up interior the rites and regulations and the holier than thou orthodoxy. showing kindness and love is extra advantageous than any dogma. i in my opinion have no longer something against atheists, as long as they don't seem to be too insulting of me for being a Christian. Many are particularly large and clever. regardless of if or no longer you adult adult males are called a faith is carefully beside the point, as that factor era has misplaced any credibility and is extra of a sociopolitical label besides.

I'm not an Atheist so I'm not exactly sure what this religion includes in its conditions. From what I've seen and heard of them on here and in the Christian Chat room on AOL, they are aggressive rude people who seem to want to beat me up verbally and even perhaps physically if I ever met one. They seem very scary angry people, and if the world was full of them I don't hold much hope for it.

People should have the right to believe what they want to believe, as long as their beliefs are not forced upon others or affect others in a negative way then it is their choice.
Everyone has their own ideas and beliefs, if someone elses ideas and beliefs are different then that is their choice. It doesn't affect you and your beliefs shouldn't affect them.

Atheism is the way forward to what? eternal punishment ? I sure don't want any part of that, and if religion is an outdated constitution, why dose religion out number Atheism, and religion is a growing thing, it seems to me that Atheism is in the minority, not the majority.
