Dawn of the Dead the directors cut. Really hard going from the start. Freaked me out more than the original i was younger than ten when i saw that version! The Night Flier great vampire film (Stephen King) The Shinning ( Stephen King). An American Werewolf in London a classic that one! Resident Evil 1 and 2. Gosh i could go on i have so many! I personally don tlike the slasher movies that are on the go these days. To me a good horror movie is something with supernatural, demons, evil and the likes. Stigmata was on TV a few weeks ago, and it still scares the bejeesus out of me.

I love Dawn of the Dead. (I prefer the remake but I also love the original) Also, there is a film that came out fairly recentely called Silent Hill. I am a total horror addict and it takes a lot to frighten me, but for some reason that film really freaked me out!!!

Good god these people aropund here wouldn't know a decent scary movieif it bit them on the bum! lol

I back up the recommendation for the Descent, its very good. for more psychological thriller with a scary/spooky element, the skeleton key is fantastic.

Theres so little to choose from recent movies as they've almost all been shite so some oldies

Halloween
Psycho
childs play
The shining

all scare the pants off me, prolly why i stick more to gore than bone chilling terror ;)

Listen people, those are not horror films.
Final Destinaiton 1,2,3, Saw 1,2,3, Dawn of the Dead and so on and so forth are all very good films but none of them are quite scary as... The Descent.
I watched this in the cinema and I tell you something, I was scared out of my head. It has the right combination of a thriller, blood and guts and on your edge seatness. The beasts in the film were doubly scary because they had mutated from being human to whatever the hell they were later.
A very, very, very scary film. I love scary films even though I scream and grip hold of my boyfrind while I am watching it but this we both agreed on came on top.

Try Roman Polanski's 'The Tenant', Lynch's 'Eraserhead' or Hideo Nakata's 'Ring' (sometimes incorrectly translated as 'Ringu' and not to be muddled with its lame Hollywood remake 'The Ring').
Personally I really liked 'The Mothman Prophesies'.

The revised version of the original Exorcist. Your life will never be the same, make sure you watch it alone in the dark of night if possble, for maximum scary effect. If you watch it in the afternoon you won't be scared.
