I'm filming someone this weeked doing a dance to music. However there will be other, louder music also playing at the same time and I don't want to use the standard mic on the camera to pick up the audio feed as I'm worried it'll just pick up the louder music and not the music the person is dancing to.
If my Mini-DV camera has a 3.5mm mic input would I be able to run a phono output from my cd player into the 3.5mm jack on the camera so that it takes a pure audio signal directly from the CD rather than having to use the built-in mic to pick up the audio from the speakers (and therefore any ambient noise as well)?
Or is there a better alternative you can suggest??

Ultimately I need the audio and video feed coming directly from the camera so I can record using Quicktime Pro on the computer. I'm not going to have time to sync an audio track with a video feed on the computer so I need a solution that combines the two at some point beefore the signal gets to the computer.
