Individuals, they are all franchised outlets. The intellectual rights are own by the McDonald Company which comprises of shareholders all with a say in the running.

I think your best bet is to go to their website, or Google Search McDonalds, as many, if not all, their branches are owned by separate franchises.

The company is owned by shareholders. Individual stores are owned by the company or by franchisees (as I understand it lots of franchisees in USA, not very many in UK... i don't know about anywhere else)

most are franchises owned be individuals, the big guys make their money when people buy a franchise, which are not cheap, 150-350k depending on location (allegedly)
