Folk always complain about younger folk damaging property, being a public nuisance etc. What about the elderly and the unwarranted stress they cause. They hold up queues(by chatting to the till operator). Buses, they always expect the driver to know the timetable of every bus in the city(and they've usally got on the wrong one), with no consideration that some folk may be in a hurry to get to work, or the mental anguish caused. I suggest a spot fine of two tunnocks tea cakes.

yeah it seems every time I pick a que in a supermarket one till has about eight people on it another has one old couple.

Then I say cool I'll pick the que with two people and I end up slowly watchin the other people get served while the old people count their change and smell like old armchairs.

The same reason real plumbers charge for fixing your sink and real car mechanics charge for fixing your car and real doctors charge for your visits. You are paying for the expertise and time of an individual. Sometimes, especially if an individual is very good and does not charge, the phone rings day and night for people wanting to know things and there is no privacy. Charging means that people will value what they seek. On the other hand, there are lousy plumbers who create more problems than they solve, car mechanics who charge for repairs that were not needed and never made, and doctors who are utter frauds. The same is true of psychics. It is up to you to discern which is which in any profession.

I see it was groundhog day on Feb 2nd, I've see the movie but didnt know what it was celebrating! From your answers and your qestion ,It must have something to do with 'Down with the old folk day'?
So I smell like an old armchair? I drive like a nutter at 5 miles/hour? I expect respect from the young?
No one has mentioned my false teeth dropping out while I'm talking,or getting over excited and dribbling, plenty of time yet I suppose.
I wish I could drive like a boy racer, 60mph in a restricted area, must be great being able to do that and mostly get away with it, they certainly don't need a test every five years do they?
Teenagers don't chat much to the till operators , but they do seem to line up in bunches of a hundred , they dont so much 'chat' to each other but just vie for being louder than their friends, I've watched and listened (while I'm holding up the line) not one of them wants to listen to their Friends story they all want to tell their own little tale.
The weirdest part of this line up is that out of the 100 waiting in line, only one of them wants to buy something usually a penny bag of sweets.
I dont 'expect' respect from the younger generation, I expect to be mugged in the street, (we are a very easy target), or driven off the road by a boy racer who always 'respectfully' sticks a finger in the air as some sort of 'hello' signal! as he speeds on by!
I had to chuckle at the 'smell like an old armchair ' bit, I may even mention that to a friend of mine in the pub, he is a typical miserable old fa*t, it wont take much to get him worked up, some thing like myself really!! Wish I could afford two tunnocks tea cakes but I'm only a poor old aged pensioner!
Ever heard that before? If I mention that to anyone they tell me to get knotted, hows that for respect??
In answer to to added question I could be, I did have one of those penny farting bikes when I was younger and got aound a lot!
It's not soeasy now on my walking frame but I try my best trouble is the women just wont keep still anymore and I keep falling off.

You have a good point here.

The elderly expect respect from the young - Respect is a 2 way thing.

They are just as annoying as the little ranty kids on buses.

I have no idea what psychic vandalism is but it sounds like something I could learn to use in my old age.

I'd better stock up on tea cakes. Yippee !
