Are you sure your computer isn't the culprit? It could very well be loaded with spyware, adware or viruses which will make your connection seem slow.

Basically it will be due to a large amount of usage around the area. "Dialing up" your provider in a broadband context just means you need to authenticate using a username and password, you do not have to tone dial into the Internet. If you get a router it will connect automatically which is quite useful. What you need to do is find the speed you are downloading at and check if that is reasonable. If it isnt, talk to your provider.

If you have to dial up, then it is not broadband. Dialup is 56k, the braodband u mention is 1500k - do the math.

Ther are site to check your speed - google > broadband speed test. It will download an image and workout the download time and therefore your speed. Broadband is a constant connection, you do not dial up. Contact your ISP for more info. Your 1.5M connection should be pretty quick

Dial-Up is gonna be slow regardless because it has to send out information and recieve it all through a line. Satillite or LAN internet is MUCH faster because it's wireless and transmitts in seconds

I would talk to your Internet Service provider that's very odd. where are you from?

And yes LAN is fast but satellite isn't that much chop it has more limits than regular broadband.
