This may sound like a stupid question but where is the battery located on a 1991 BMW 530i? I got the car about a month ago or so and The battery light is on. I want to get it tested but its not under the hood. There is a Positive (+) jumping post under the hood but I can't find the battery. The owners manual doesn't even show where it is. Its not in the trunk anywhere else I can see......I'm thinking maybe behind the glove box but there are a couple panels that would need to be removed.....Help Please?!!?

It is under the rear seat. You have to give a good tug at the front corner edges of the seat bottom and it'll pop up.

All BMWs have the battery in the trunk on the right side. It helps them achieve the perfect 50/50 weight balance between the front and the back of the car.

It should be on the right side behind or beneath a panel. They put it on the right side because in any collision the statistically least probable place to be hit is the right rear quarter.

It's probably in your trunk on the right side near the tail lights underneath carpeting. This is where the battery is on our BM 7 series. It should be there too.
