Snakes live in holes and under buildings, rocks, logs etc. The don't stay in one place they move around. They are usually found near water. There are many species of snake living in Australia. Best wishes.

Snakes live any where they want until humans come and kill them or remove them. Usually they chose dark crevices in stones if they live in the mountains or under sand if they are desert dwelling or in the water as in the Amazon or some parts of India. Cobras are worshiped in India and sometimes live in the temples.
