well depends if there complexion is rosy or not many Olive skins are rosy and so is fair but some has yellowish ting to there color, so as i see it if ur fair or olive +rosy stay away from orange! and if ur fair and pale stay away from black, and if ur olive and pale with a greenish hue stay away from yellow and purple. very dark tan with reddish color looks amazing with bright colors like fuchsia and aqua blue even lime. black tones look heavenly in white, just amazing! and it will be a nice idea if they stay away from lifeless colors like pistachio green. but for all colors beige is the master, anyone can look heavenly in it.

a) light colours that will make fair people seem more pale (light grey, off white)
b) olive complexion people should not wear dark browns or bronze
c) charcol people can wear anything
it all depends on how u present it! if u can carry a style, then go for it!

Fair people look good in pastal shades, bright colours will make them look like they are circus participants and dark colours will give their complexion a warmer hue.
Charcoal-complexioned people look good in deep earthy tones, except black. Bright colours will make them stand out in a crowd, and dark colours will accentuate the contrast between their skin colour and dress colour. Some people dig that, some don't!
Olive-skinned people are the lucky ones who can get away with any colour.
