Please everyone, re-read that interview. Everywhere is saying this and it's driving me nuts! She said that two additional characters that she hadn't expected to die were now going to die and another that she had expected to die has had a reprieve. She never at any point said that ONLY two characters were going to die (and she's certainly never said that Harry is dafinitely going to die, only agreed that it is a possiblity). There must be more than 2 deaths in this book, it's the final battle of the war - how can only 2 die? There were at least 4 in the last one, but everyone only remembers the obvious one at the end. There were also Emmeline Vance and the other Ministry official we were told about at the beginning together with an unknown Deatheater in the battle at the base of the lightning struck tower. Not to mention all the muggles killed by the collapsed bridge.
I think that at least one out of the other Weasleys is going to die, plus at least one out of Hermione, Neville, Ron, Luna and Ginny. Plus another DA member and/or a teacher and/or member of the Order (Lupin, Tonks, Mundungus, Kingsley). Voldemort or Harry have to die (and I hope it's not Harry!). There must also be deaths of some of the main deatheaters, the Malfoys, the Lestranges, Crabbe, Goyle, Notte (sp?!) etc Snape will die finally showing his true colours - saving Harry. The two 'main' (already) dead people are really dead and will only appear, if at all, via their portraits.

i think harry and voldemort are going to die...you know for sure that voldemort is going to die otherwise there would be some lose ends to fix. J.K said it's all in the prophesy and how she worded it but you can read it all kinds of ways. So if Voldemort dies then Harry can live, but would it be realistic for harry to live because then we'd want to know what he did with the rest of his life.If he succeeds in killing Voldemort then he probably won't have to be an auror because V's followers will most likely surrender. so I don't see a point in harry living besides the fact that I like his character like sirius and his death would be sad.

i don't think hagrid will die because nothing drastic would change if he does. so there's no point killing him. malfoy may die, but there is a possibility that he can be on the other side on seven. on harry's side, i mean. as for ron, i don't think he'll die and neither will hermione. voldemort will die, i guess. because J.K. said that she really doesn't like any author making more sequels so she'd better kill one of the MAIN characters - which Voldemort is. she also said she'll be killing two. one is - as said earlier - is Voldemort and the other may or may not be Harry. I think, in the end, he will be a great Auror and NOT dead. but at the back of my head, i think he might die too. (hope not!) so in that case, i think that the other will be...UNKNOWN. haha. let's just wait for the seventh.

No I think Harry will survive, Hermione as well but reckon Ron will pop his clogs and even Malfoy....now there's one to think about.
Coz he's shown his colours in Half Blood Prince so could be a dual between Ron and Malfoy.
Also, if Warner Bros are right they have 2 extra films on offer AFTER the book series finishes so can't see Mrs Rowling killing off her biggest asset now, can you?
So think they deaths will be "side" main characters and not THE main man..roll on release date!!

Harry Potter is going to die in this one, haven't heard of anyone else.
She is killing off Harry, so nobody can make a new book/movie after she dies.

impossible to say. She is so clever with her plots, no one has been able to forecast what twists and turns the stories will take.
Hope it isnt Harry. I would like a perfect ending with Voldemort and Malfoy being the ones to go.

KB - great answer!! Can't add anything to it, except didn't I read somewhere that JK had said that either Voldemort OR Harry would die, but not both of them?
