Do your own thing, if they're annoying at home, move out. At 25 you're not a child and are old enough to be living your own life - if your parents can't accept that then change the way you react to them - they won't change, but you don't have to structure your life around them.

You really need to hold a family meeting with all immediate members present and ask your parents why they dont take any notice of you, speak your feelings and be strong. I can understand you feeling you want to adopt new parents - they probably are very good people and wouldnt want to hurt you, I was emotionally and physically abused by one of my parents and the other one just turned a blind eye to it. If I could have found new ones I would have although I did try to adopt grandparents for my own children as I didnt want them to miss out, its not the same though and it didnt come to anything. Anyway at the age of 25 you may or may not have someone special in your life you want to be with and then you can make that relationship work between yourselves. Your parents will always be your parents but that other person will be the priority in your life. Another alternative is to become acquainted with other people who look to you as like a son/daughter of their own just by the special friendship you develop with them, people latch onto each other for many different reasons and you may find a connection there. Try maybe some community work and you may someone or even a couple who would love to have someone like yourself as a son/daughter, maybe if they couldnt have their own or lost one or more of theirs. I lost my son and I know it would not be hard for me to do that if the right person came along. Good luck, be happy, love yourself in a healthy way and others will love you too whether it be parents or whatever, it can take time but possible.

Friends are the family WE choose! There's no website that can help you find new parents however you can get some people in your life to help you. Might I suggest an older co-worker or a neighbor you get along with. Alot of older people whose children have gone away have some experience and love to pass on to a younger person that needs it. When the student is ready the teacher will appear.

You are 25...and only now your are complaining about your parents? I could understand if your father compulsive gambler with alcohol dependency issues and you mother was a chain-smoking nypho crack head...but since I doubt it, I would say simply put some space between you and them.
Do they know how you feel? Some parents are not psychic and need to be told things now and again!

Whatever you decide...Good Luck and I hope this helps!

At 25 you are old enough to do what you want. Remember you are an adult. Don't adopt child mode behaviour when you are with a parent.

If you are serious about finding an older role model, look at www.adopt-a-granny.co.uk
