Should the U.S. focus on domestic affairs and manipulate it's economy to be more self subsistant rather than relying on the exploitation of resources and peoples of foreign countries?

Yes. We need to quit trying to be the police force of the world. We give all sorts of money to country's that can't stand us, think of what good we could with that money here at home. We should take care of our own first, and then worry about the rest of the world later. Quit sticking our nose where it's not wanted. Hey if a bunch of people want to kill each other off, let them do it. As long as they leave us alone in doing so. America should take care of our children before the worlds children.

The exploitation of resources and peoples of foreign countries provides money and jobs to those people. Really of what use is oil to a country full of people who can't afford cars? Or is it really bad to pay someone in a different country 1/2 as much as an American when you are paying them twice what they would make without being 'exploited'? People don't hate the US because they play too big a role in world affairs, they hate the US because they don't get too choose what the US does with its power. It seems that everyone in is saying, "The US should do this, the US should do that." Don't you guys have your own governments and leaders to tell what to do?
No, the US shouldn't play a smaller part in world affairs because you can't separate domestic and international policies in a global economy. Isolationism isn't efficient. That's like asking people in Alaska to grow pineapples and forcing Hawaii to build snowmobiles.

I think so. The US government should only involve itself in International affairs in extreme situations such as when genocide takes place or when one country shows aggression towards another. However, this interference should be as part of an International force where every member country contributes proportionate to their size and any force should be under international control, not under the control of any country or small group of countries. There must be an end to the US going on its own overthrowing regimes it doesn't like as this only turns other countries against the US and allows some of the US's allies to benefit from US foreign policy without actually contributing to the cost of this action themselves. As far as the economy goes I think it is important that the US does not go into an isolationist mode as international trade is vital for the prosperity of all countries

I think that a lot of people say the US likes to play world cops and a lot of people think no one asked and it is wrong. But I also think if we just started butting out a lot of people would be up in arms saying we are being snotty and acting too good. You know if a mass genocide is happening and the US doesn't jump in and try to stop it how many fingers point at us? Frankly I have had enough of this Yo-yo. Make up your minds if you want us to butt out or if you want us to be an involved nation.

Yes. We relye too much on other countries. I also think that we put our noses where they don't belong. Like trying to force other countries to have democracy. We think that we are the Kings of the world. But... we arn't, the people in government need to grow up.

Most definitely. I believe that you should take care of your own before you consider others. I don't mean to be selfish and take care of yourself, but to take care of yourself, your family, your community, your country, and then international affairs. There is no sense in protecting a land that is corrupt.

Well, no matter what you do, someone is going to complain that you're doing it wrong. I think the notion that since we're the most powerful country, it is our duty to help other's in need.
