Hello
I'm 21 I have been on BC for 5-6 years, because of cramps. I went off birth control going on my 4th month now. Last 2 periods I had were 12days long and extreamly light. I was 6 days this month, then I started my period this morning. Normal period, lots of cramps. I had a lot, if not all, of the pregnancy symptoms(nausea, bigger breast, off and on bad head aches, fever, light cramping, more bathroom breaks1&2, sore nipples, back aches....) just about everything. So I was pretty upset when I got it. My hubby has been asking is co-workers when their wife got their + pregnancy test. So cute :). He came home very excited to tell me he bought more tests. It was a little sad telling him I started. He said it's ok maybe we aren't susposed to have a baby yet. It sucked hearing that but he is probably right. We aren't being "safe", so you can say we are trying. Were those symptoms form stoping BC pills? When should my hormones level out from stoping BC? Should I wait longer TC? Thank U!

Sounds to me like it's time to see a REAL Doctor.

It can take a year or so after stopping the pill, but you were on it a long time, and at especially a young age, so that might provide you with more complications. Some of the "symptoms" you list are not pregnancy related at all - so perhaps you just need to read up on more information. I think you had better talk with your husband about keeping your personal business private, and not discuss it with his coworkers - I know I wouldn't like that.
You are young, and have lots of years yet to have children. Because you were on birth control so long, it could provide you with other side effects and effects on your fertility and health, so you had best make yourself aware of those. If you are really concerned, get yourself checked out by a gynecologist.
I know the "wait" is hard when you are eager, but your body has to get everything ready. Also, you might realize there could always be issues with the man too - if he smokes, drugs, does alcohol etc. - those call all affect his sperm. Don't do the heavy on yourself, alone.
Good luck!

I stopepd taking the pill last August (06) and have been "trying" since November. Before that we were not preventing pg but were not tracking ovulation. Last month I had similar symptoms... the WORST breast pain ever... cramping.. tired spells and mood swings..on top of all of that I was 3 days late! I kept taking tests that came up neg and then I got my period. I was devistated. Both my husband and I have been checked with a doc and we are both fine. The dr told us after being on BC pills it can take a normal healthy couple a year to conceive. The hardest thing to do is not to think about it but you have to try. I hope you get what you are waiting for!!! Good luck and relax.

Yes it can take anywhere from 8-12 months for the BC pill to fully leave your body.Every woman is completely different and how her body adjusts from taking the pill to no longer taking the pill varies. Its a hormonal adjustment that can and often does mimic pregnancy.I'm sorry you got your hopes up I was in the same position and it just killed me a little every time I'd start to think maybe I was and then I'd start...It IS normal to have what my Dr termed a *mock hormonal pregnancy* after you stop taking the pill.Your abnormal periods are starting to finally get situated which btw is very good news.Once they start becomming normal again that means your cycle is returning to normal which means ovulation:) Start charting your cycle now write what day you begin and what day you end the sooner you start charting the more knowledgeable you'll be on how&when to really start trying...

I wish you luck and lots of patience and 2 thumbs up for hubby getting so involved and excited. That will make it so much easier and create a stronger bond in your marriage..A common goal to strive for and share keeps couples strong and happy...

Blessed Be,
M.G
