About 150 Million people were led by very old-fashioned major two political parties. These are Bangladesh Nationalist party (BNP) and Awami League (AL). The two major political parties seem to be the problem in the development of Bangladesh in almost every sector.
The mindset of AL leadership is somewhat reflection of the mental torture and agony its President Sk. Hasina passed through and suffering when her parents and family members (beside another sister) were killed on 15th August 1975. She could never pull herself out from the trauma and never forget to punish the populace for not protesting the killings of her family members.
On the other hand the BNP was in power many times but due to superfluous level of its leadership and their hold on public as well as government machineries along with corruption of some of its leaders made BNP suspect recently. They have miserably failed to contain price hikes or essentials and chronic shortage of power (electricity).
Bangladesh’s continuing economic problems, combined with its status as one of the world’s most populated countries, poses one of its biggest challenges in the years ahead.
Widespread poverty has remained a pervasive problem in Bangladesh, as successive governments have generally failed to attend to the welfare of the people.
Although the economy has grown regularly since the late 1970s, the benefits of that growth have not filtered down to the average person.
Bangladesh remains at or near the bottom of almost all international lists measuring economic and social development, while being placed at the top of lists for corruption in government.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh has received only minor foreign direct investment in comparison to other Asian countries.
The wrong and misguided policies of the AL and its leader Sk. Hasina could easily be singled out as impediments to the development of Bangladesh. However, there seems to be nobody within this otherwise very old and well organized party to tell the truth to Sk. Hasina for fear of their life, as happened to one of her close associates (Rentu).
It is not very difficult to identify the cause of economic problem of Bangladesh. If tomorrow the leadership of AL decides that it has forgotten the past animosity & bitterness and going to do major reshuffle in its party leadership and handover power to the young and progressive minded people within AL then miracle would happen.
Similar exercise have to be done within BNP and they too must feel and realise that new AL is not going to sell Bangladesh to India just to enable it to come to state power in any way possible, which is the signal the AL is apparently emitting, knowingly or unknowingly.
Let the Chief of Caretaker Government Dr. Fakhruddin to complete the task at hand and get the General Election completed within April or May-2007. Thereafter, we can borrow the "Peace Formulae" as proposed by Dr. Md. Yunus in a civic reception given to him by the Mayor of Dhaka City. Details could be sought from Dr. Yunus and let the system of governance be different than what we can see in the last 35 year of Bangladesh modern history.
Leave the rest on the people of Bangladesh with less interference from the government and Bangladesh could come back to a respectable state within the next 5 to 10 years.

before Adam Smith wrote on Capitalist idea, he grow to be an ethical truth seeker. He talked about that capitalism can not exist or regulate itself with no moral society. The international places you web site have little or no idea of Western Morality, (having reported that we do not both a lot anymore). also they don't look to be societies that traditionally have positioned a lot fee on own Liberty, (huh, kinda like us immediately!) and there is not any middle type, neither is there even a idea of it, except for a small provider service type. what's magnificent of those societies is that the major massive difference between the oppressors and the oppressed is precisely that. many cases the authorities criticism of the oppressed is extremely that they don't look to be getting their straightforward shot at oppressing some one else. Smith postulated that capitalism, unregulated Capitalism gained't in hardship-free words smash the buyer, yet will contained in the proper smash itself. yet he argues for market regulation (the buyer) not authorities.
