I am nearly 39 weeks pregnant, and I've lost my mucus plug, the baby has "dropped", I'm dilated 2 cm, have been having contractions for over a week, and these are my symptoms....

-unable to have a true bowel movement.
-LOTS of pressure, feeling as if I need to push.
-stomach is making weird noises that I do not recognize.

(no idea if that has ANYTHING to do with labor or not.)

Someone please tell me if you felt ANY of this.
I'm going crazy!

I'm not having any contractions that i know of right now...so is it really necessary to call my midwife?

I know I am 39 weeks. because of the ultra sound...and at my apt wed they said she is about 6 1/2 lbs now.

the thing i am most concerned about is the noises my stomach is making...haha that sounds silly...but has anyone else experienced this?

Feeling like you need to push may warrant going to the hospital NOW! Are you having contractions at all? Call your doctor's office now and tell them about how bad the pressure is, you don't want to have this baby at home!!!!!!!!!

Honey god bless you. I have 2 children myself and I am a maternity nurse for about 18 years. Maybe your dates are off and your not really 39wks but 36, the doctors have to becareful the infant really need to be 36wks plus days to not have any higher risk for breathing problems. There are also complications of placenta and cord deterioration if you stay pregnant past 4oweeks. I encourage you to discuss with you md to maybe bring you in for an augmentation or to induce your labor. The meds are generally the same ones used in alot of births that need xtra help along even if they start on their own. Definately talk to your doctor about setting the date if your truly 39weeks and counting the baby grows a pound a week at this stage so you don't really want to go 2 weeks late and have super big baby to deliver. Sorry not trying to scare you, just some food for thought.-melissa

first of all Congrats momma! Second I know & understand how frustrating it can be when your at the end but it is taking soo long for labor to start..it sounds like you are in prelabor..and I am so sorry to say but you can be walking around like this for another week..I was 42+,4 centimeters and didnt get induce till almost a week later..my ob was crazy for keeping me pregnant that long..have ya tried any self inducing..sex,castor oil, lots & lots of walking..sounds like you just need a lil bit of a push..take care & I hope you go into labor soon!! ~*labor dust to you *~

**if you are in doubt and feel like you are in true labor plz go to the hospital** always remember contractions never ease up..they intensify..it's always safe than to be sorry.
