Did I just imagine it? I'm sure I saw a news report about a metoer being see burning up n the sky over London last night, but can't find any stories on BBc or Yahoo News....

What was seen in the London dawn sky was a 'comet' and not a meteor. You can probably find out more about this if you visit the BBC website. Some photographs of it were posted by members of the public. These in turn were viewed on TV during weather forecasts.

Sorry, cannot remember the name of the comet and why we were not told of it's arrival.

Historically, comets have been seen as the herald of events to come. Maybe it was the herald of the outbreak of bird flu! Who knows?

Happenes all the time. Sometimes it's debris from satillites.
Satillites are very colorfull when they burn up.
Earth is constantly bombarded with meteors.
