Today cricket is the only game in India which has name fame and game!! It possess all qualities of being the National Sport.Cricket is making indians crazy,also getting them together,bringing lots of money in nation,so why not???

Yes. Not only you, but almost everybody thinks the way you think. Though not formally but Cricket is a National Sport of India. The people who make these decisions or those who decide which sport should be National Sport are sleeping from long time but I have no doubt in my mind that rest all people in India think Cricket is their National Sport.

I second your opinion.
India opted Hockey as National Sport because it was the most popular game at that time (And we used to win lot of tournaments). Now we are not even a good contender in Hockey.
I would go with cricket as it is the main game for most of the kids/adults in any village/town.
Why shouldn't it get a National Sport status when millions of Indians love this game?

i don't think so ....... because it's a myth only that cricket is only game which has fame and name !!!!! because i and many person like me , love hockey so...... much . and any national decision should taken once ....... Now plz. don't say that ' INDIA ' is not a good name ' AMERICA ' has more fame than india's name should be changed into america ........

FIRST of all it is not a olympic game , not played in more than 12 countries, only british ruled countries are playing it, it has won only one world cup where only five - six countries played, and dear friend you are talking about money in-flow to the country the fact is,, it is accumilating in BCCI. which proudly announces that the players are playing for BCCI and not for the country,
I hope hockey is best to be our national game, becoz it has won many gold in Olympics
