No. My husband is a recovering alcoholic, so we never have alcohol in the house, and since I rarely go anywhere where alcohol is served, I don't drink. Do I miss it? Not really. After a nice dinner at an elegant restaurant, I sometimes wish I could drink a nice port, but it isn't worth ordering it if there would be the slightest chance that it would tempt my husband to drink.

Not weird at all. I don't drink alcohol... I'm 35.

For the most part, it's rather funny to see the shocked expression on people's faces when you tell them that you don't drink alcohol, because you can tell most of them automatically assume "everyone" does to some degree and it's a shock to their perceptions that there are people who don't.

The only negative is that people who drink can 1) assume you are on a moral high horse and think bad/ look down at them if they drink or 2) feel guilty if you are with them and they are drinking, because they keep wondering if you are having a good time since they are imbibing and you aren't.

To me, it's just a personal choice and preference.

If you don't want to drink, don't start. I started at 11 1/2 and I was almost dead by your age. Been sober 26 years now. There is nothing special or wonderful about getting so drunk that you puke your guts out. Or throwing blood up either. That is not the definition of a good time.

I am 32 and I have stopped drinking because alcohol never adds anything positive to anyone's life. It is at the root of all my problems, and it makes people act like idiots. It's also very expensive. I'll never drink again, and I'm very happy.
