I just read your other questions as well.
I would think you could find construction jobs in the area, considering the four counties o f Linn, Lane, Benton and Marion. You might do some online research of construction in those four counties.
As far as raising a family, that area is excellent, and I would recommend Lebanon over Albany, and it is less expensive than Corvallis.

I repeat my other answer to you here:
Lebanon, OR, is a small town of around 12,000 population just east of Interstate Highway #5, near Albany, OR. It is large enough to have serivces, a skating rink, Walmart, good schools and a hospital. It is somewhat an agricultural area, and a lot of people who live in the country have horses and small farms.

It's about ten miles from the freeway (I5), so easy access to go to Salem, about a half hour north, or Portland, about 90 minutes north; or Eugene, about an hour south. If you like country style small town living, it's a pleasant place.

Also, Lebanon tends to be a "working class" town ... that means it is affordable to the average family, and comfortable to live in.
