how do i get my battery to charge on my laptop?

i have a compaq presario 900, and my battery isn't charging. am i missing something?

Maybe, or could be your battery is a dud. Make sure the cord is plugged in all the way, and try to leave it plugged in overnight without it turned on.

If your laptop is old, then your battery must be dead and unrechargable any more.

If the laptop works on A/c power, then the battery should be dead. Either replace the battery or use A/c untill you do.

sounds like a bad battery. the battery might have a dead cell in it.
