Why don't people get English Humour? Why is it even called English humour? it is humour just like any other humour.. We are funny right??

Like a lot of our funny tv shows.. or comedians such as jimmy carr... noone gets it..

you odd people.. why don't you get us?????

I thought Trigger Happy TV was one of the funniest TV shows I have ever seen...that was British...wasn't it?????

OK. Point taken. But you Brits don't just have one type of sense of humor --there is a significant difference between the comedy of upper-class drawing room humor, and the traditional working-class music hall comedy.

We do "get" your humor...at least those television shows we see here in America; If we can understand some of your regional accents. But it is a matter of taste, and what we are used to in comedy. It is a particular type of joke-telling, or what is called here "situation comedies".It differs from your sense of humor.

So, let us just agree that funny is what you or I think of as funny.

Not better or worse. Not funny or not. Just different.

More reality than comedy sadly.

Because brits are dry, and a lot of people don't get sarcastic metaphors.
