You have a thousand with out going in debt.GO for it if not she would be buying her own present kinda.Also if you have that much why are thinking stuffed animal rose's cliche. things.
Better to come up with memory she will have the rest of her life like a vac. or day long spa. treatment. Maybe take her shopping let her spend it.

depends on what you intend to get her, but i would think so. you can get her a really nice gift for $300-500.
if you really want to go all out an wow her though, go ahead, i'm sure she'll love it =)
