Whilst we are a Christian country, although you wouldn't believe it we will never become an Islamic state but if we continue to allow these people into Britain we will eventually loose our identity, I wonder if I went to Saudi Arabia and stated polling for a Christian state there it would be "tolerated"? I think not....I they want Islamic law they should go and live in an Islamic state.

Yes I read a similar poll but the high figure related to young Muslims, not all Muslims. It is scary. You are either British and want to live under our laws or you are not, as simple as that. If someone wishes to live under Sharia Law (parts of which belong in the dark ages) they are not in my eyes British. They should therefore p1ss off to somewhere like Islamabad and leave Britain to the British. These people make my blood boil - if they don't like Britain, our laws and way of life why are they here? Presumably because they DO have a wider agenda of turning Britain into an Islamic state. When you consider that the White British indigenous population could be in a minority here in 2050 we can see that Britain is indeed moving towards becoming an Islamic state. Very scary indeed.

That is frightening, what I can't understand is why Muslim women don't rebel against it, as they are treated so badly under Muslim law. Women in these cultures are very much the underdog and some of them have to wear veils when they go out,and in some Muslim societies their husband takes more than one wife. I personally think that women are mad if they want to live under those rules.
You say that 50% of British Muslims want to replace Democracy with Islamic law, well if they do they should go back to their own country. They should also be told that "Whilst in Roma they must behave as the Romans do" meaning they should go by our laws or just leave the country.

I saw that on the news as well, I'm not sure it was 50% though, but I think the figures for 16-24 year olds who aopposed Britains democratic rule were double that of their elders (I thought it was only 23% though).

I think that if they want Islamic law they should basically f**k off somewhere that is already barbaric enough to exercise it. No religion can possibly rule a devloped country, the very thought is a contradiction in terms. Religion is for losers who's view of life and civilisation is clouded by the belief that a god exists (in whatever form their religious flavour happens to be).

Well I didn't know. But know that you mention it , yes, it is most troubling. I don't live in the UK anymore, in fact I live in a Muslim country, and still See it as very bad. I mean isn't it enough the most of the Middle East is a place isolated from the world due to Islamic Law and Sharia's oppression, now Europe two! Have no doubt that, given the chance, many Muslims (not all) would opt to sack the Monarchy, and place an English version of Khadem Il Haramayn Al Shareefayn, or something. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN, GOD SAVE THE UK.

Those polled don't want to replace Democracy with Islamic Law. They want to replace British Law with Islamic Law. There is a difference.

There are Islamic Democracies, and some very successful ones. What they object to is following British Law, because it often is at odds with their religious beliefs. Just like the Anglican and Catholic Religions are complaining that British Law (such as in the case of Gay couples) is at odds with their religious beliefs.

Personally, I wouldn't want to live under Sharia law. But neither would I want to live under Strict Christian law, as there are many parts of it that go against my beliefs.

You need to get your facts straight.

I agree that Sharia law is wrong. But so is some Catholic or other Christian laws. Such as not eating meat on a Friday. That was only brought in at a request from fishmongers in the dark ages, when they couldn't sell their rotting fish. There have been times when you had to eat fish three days a week by Law.

So what - well over 60% of people in Britain when polled say they want to bring back capital punishment. Neither of these things is going to happen any time soon. Apart from anything else: 1) We are not trying to bring democracy to Islam, Islam is quite capable of democracy if given the chance, we have usually stood against it in the past, as we fear the democratic choice will be Islamic government as in Palestine, 2) I decidedly doubt your statistics are quoted accurately. I do not think those in favour of Islamic law would see this as replacing democracy.

I think that it was actually in the younger age group that the figure was so high. Amongst the older Muslims that were polled the figure was much lower.

If Sharia law replaced our law the country would cease to function and get thrown back into the Dark Ages. The banking, finance, retail, leisure, tourism industries would basically cease to exist. Economically we would retreat into the third world not to mention the social unrest that would follow.

Islamic law is NOT an opposite alternative to replace democracy with, and nobody thinks it is.

It requires very specific sentences for a huge list of offences - these could be enacted through legislation if it made any sense to our lawmakers to. But there is nothing in Islam that requires that leaders be chosen by non-democratic means.

Your question is very interesting and well put, ...

and my answer is No They Don't !

Hello,
For as long as there is a history book in the world, it has been my learning that for as long as you continue to mix religion with politics, this is a great recipe for even greater disasters, and the common man/woman is the one that looses thier lives because of this same recipe. I am more than sure this is how it always will be, So God Please protect us from Politicians... No matter which brand of religieon, or whatever party.YOU WILL NEVER BRING DEMOCRACY TO PEOPLE OUT OF THE HOLE END OF A LOADED WEAPON.Neither can you bring a God to them from the same method....Politicians have been trying to prove that you can, for centuries, and I still don't believe them.......
