Why not get involved in the church? If you look in the news paper, there are needs for volunteer workers. The yellow pages under social work should have some good places to do volunteer work for. Don't look in places where perverts hang out.

Take a night class or something. That is if you're not a student but if you're already a student then you should be able to make friends that way by joining a study club or whatever is there. But if you're not a student then take a class you like, such as art, dancing, music or whatever interests you. Becareful with internet dating tough cuz lot of weirdos hide behind the computer. Take care.

I would say joining a club or team mostly. If you don't like that you could always just be friendly and try to start conversations with everyone. Try to talk about things you might have in common but just start with life, moving, etc.

get involved in some recreational activites and/or join a club or sport. thats really the best thing you can do. you can also become close friends with your neighbors. invite them over for luch or something and get to know them! and through them, you can meet other people! it will take time but the more you get yourself involved, the more people you will meet and become friends with... guarenteed! good luck! xoxo

coffee shops r good, just going to hang out at one, have your coffee, read the paper...make it part of your routine...after a week or so of going u start to talk with other people u have seen there...the regulars, and sooner or later u become one...poolhalls r always good to.
