(9¸3) x (8¸4) = 6

What the heck am I looking at?
--------------------------------------------
I am confused as to what this even means.
--------------------------------------------
The only thing I can deduce is 6 is the exact center of 3 and 9, and the center of 4 and 8... Is that it?

I didn't want to deal with math right now, but try this: 9x8=72 and 3x4=12. 72/12=6. I don't know what kind of math you are doing or what mathematics class it would be from so I can't do anything else for you.

I found in a book somewhere (don't remember its name now) that (a,b) means the Greatest Common Divisor of a & b. But that was only meant for that book, & I personally have never seen anything like this anywhere else. However, if this is was what your question says, then (9,3)=3 and (8,4)=4; so, (9,3)*(8,4) = 3*4 = 12. So, I am confused ,too, about what your question means.

Another possibility is that if this "thing" was a problem of
Co-ordinate Geometry, than (a,b)*(c,d) is the Cartesian Product of the two sets (a,b) & (c,d), which gives the set of all Ordered Pairs of elements from the set (a,b) to the set (c,d) , i.e.,
(a,b)*(c,d) = (a,c),(a,d),(b,c),(b,d) [Caution: (x,y) is not = (y,x)].
But even then I'm in a fix as to what your problem says. So, best of luck, buddy!
