Sparky, I saw that snake alligator thing! That was weird, truly. Ugh. About the snake killing/eating the man, I think you are right. I looked it up and the man went in to feed the snake and the snake wrapped around his neck and strangled him. My question? Why did the dumb *** (pardon my french) let the snake wrap around his neck and kill him? I say no to pet snakes.

It suffocated him...did not eat him. In Sept 2006, a guy in Indiana was killed by his 13' snake, and in Dec 2006 a guy in Ohio was killed by his 14' snake. Do a web search for "pet snake kills man", and you can read about it. BTW...Anacondas are the only snakes that are big enough to eat adults...there are other snakes that can eat children. Plenty of snakes are big enough to choke a person to death. Hey...want to see a wild snake picture? Do a web search for "snake tries to eat alligator and explodes". There is a picture on the MSNBC news site of a 13' Burmese Python that tried to eat a 6' alligator and the snake exploded. The snake may not have completely killed the gator before eating it...ooops. Wild looking picture....check it out.

No but there was a huge snake that ate 11 guard dogs somewhere. There was a pic on the web.

I will tell you a proverb we have in Greece, which loosely translates as "Whoever meddles with chicken food is eaten by the hens". It means that if you do dangerous things, you might have the consequences. It's not like a wild snake came and ate him, he had it coming!
HOWEVER, SNAKES ARE USEFUL CREATURES AND HARMLESS, ESPECIALLY NON POISONOUS ONES, WHEN THEY ARE FREE.

Typically i would think they would eat themselves only if they are starven and dont get properly taken care of...or they went insane...snakes do this as well
