Well... The father has to take some action legally to get custody of his child. A friend of mine had a baby with a girl who was a drinker and hung out with people who were involved in drugs. It's not a good situation at all and stressful on anyone who knows about this happening to a baby. He had to report this to child aid services and they had to take the baby away. For awhile both parents were allowed only visitation and the baby whent into foster care. Now, my friend (was not like the father to you speak of, pretty stable) eventually got full custody in about 6 months time. Also, this can cost alot of money and there's is no guarentee he will end up with the baby. I also want to say, that although he may not get to baby that getting the liitle one away from the Mom is probably thee most important thing right now. Sounds like the Mom needs to clean up her act before she is mature and responsible to have a child. Being in fostercare may be healthier. At the same time , Is the Father Ready either? Sounds like he may not be that responsible either? In the end, I just feel for and pray for that poor child! I hope that whatever happens the baby ends up somewhere they will be loved, cared for be surrounded by people who will raise them properly.

How do you know for sure she is a drug addict? Do you have proof?
How can he take care of a kid if he is not straight?
I am sure the kid gets fed otherwise it would be dead from starvation. If your so concerned then why not call social services instead of posting it on yahoo answers?
If the baby is so much in danger then why not help now instead of saying: i dont want this baby to turn out the same.

Add: Anyone would know to call social services, if the father and the mother is together and the baby is getting taken care of then why are you so worried?

report the abuse, next time the dad has the child have him go straight to the court house and ask for an emergency hearing, they will do it within 24 hours and in the meantime he should stay clear of her so she can't take the baby back, only problem is that she is in a shelter and possible she can get a lot of free aide, unless they see she is on drugs then it's to your friends advantage

Midwives could be attentive to that the newborn grew to become into an addict as they had have had to sedate it. Heroin infants make a undesirable screeching noise quite of crying. Social workers interior the wellness midsection could then be notified. i'm particular she'll lose the newborn given the information you define right here. She has not something to signify she'd be an outstanding mom as she gave 2 of you up. Social amenities are in basic terms fascinated interior the newborn's welfare and you Mum isn't in superb condition to maintain it if she remains on heroin. And if she is, she'd use in wellness midsection and that they had be attentive to that too as they had have been staring at her.

The only thing you CAN DO is call a children protection services anonymously. Or you and the child's father can at least call around for family members and try to get someone to help. It may be pretty hard for him to file custody right now because you stated he just got out of jail. So if his mother is able or someone in his family is able to help this child, then tell him to see if he can get someone to get custody. The key is not to SNATCH this baby from the mother, but it is to help her as much as possible to better herself for this child. If he talks to her, she may just be okay with the idea.

i've have been in the same situation you have.... in canada you can call childrens aid society.... or speak with any type of child counsellor they will direct you to the right place in helping you in this situation... also if he wants to get custody he should go to family court and file a case against proving why she is a unfit mother you could end up being a character witness if he uses your name,, they might also try and get the mother help hope this helps

well i guess he would not be able to get the baby legaly,it won't be that easy,in turn he could talk to her but if u do it legaly it could also end up him paying for his needs while he is staying with the mum as they are not married the mum has more right for the child.but i think to have a just a opinion from anyone legal would be of great help
