That depends on the marriage. For some, and very few of us might I add, yes it is. We get married because we find one person that we're comfortable spending the rest of our life with, and we are faithful and trust that they will be faithful. For others, though, marriage is just some idea of happiness and stability, and when something shakes the very weak foundation the marriage was built on, it causes a chain reaction which destroys it.
So to answer your question, if you build your relationship and marriage on strong principles, things that don't fade fast--marriage can definitely be an institution of faith and fidelity.

well, it isnt viewed that way by many people it seems, but it certainly should be. i had no faith in marriage until i met the man of my dreams. now i am happy and realize there are men and women who have that kind of marriage.
