Like 5-6 years ago I was a hardcore weightlifter. Hardcore as in I was always weightlifting whenever I could. I was pretty strong too. I was a lazy person from 2003-2007. New Years 07 I decided I would lose weight and gain back all my upper body strength which I lost.
I have been working out my biceps, triceps, forearm, chest, shoulders for about 2 weeks. 3 sets of about 10-12 reps for each exercise. Now what sucks is that I am not getting sore from these workouts. I know that i've worked hard because sometimes I cant finish my last reps or I am forced to use my back (which is bad i know). I will work out my upper body for like 2 hours and ill come home tired. Next day i wake up and im NOT even sore. This causes me to go back to the gym and workout the same muscles because I feel that I haven't done enough the day before. And I really dont think that i need to add weights because those weights are perfect since i sometimes cant finish my last reps. Help please

Try heavier weights, less reps. Forget about not being able to do the last rep, put on some more weights and start from there. And don't work out everyday because your muscles aren't sore, that's bad if you want to gain muscle.

It might also be that you take a lot of foods high in protein after work out and take a lot of rest, it depends on a lot of things. Protein speeds up muscle repair. Just try heavier weights and less reps.

nicely considering which you stated "began lower back" i'm assuming you probably did it before. you will possibly desire to be attentive to to rotate what you artwork out so as that your muscle groups have time to get nicely. once you workout consultation, muscle groups tear. as a result it is undesirable to artwork on the comparable issues daily. relax an afternoon in between or flow onto yet another component of your anatomy. in the adventure that your shoulders are only sore, no boring or sharp pains, then you probable only choose relax. If there is throbbing or any soreness, you will might desire to work out a doctor considering which you have gotten injured your self.

The problem is that you can't just jump back into your old routine. Ive done that and it sucks. What helped me was lifting less weight, doing mre reps and taking more breaks in between. Try to go slow at first. You don't want to use your back...yes you know but it is very bad so stop it. Just take it slow and build your way back to what you used to be able to. Take care

defiantly go with more weight and less reps....and dont go to the gym working the same muscles everyday...that just over works them and instead of the muscles cells getting bigger you jus keep destroying the cells.....what you consume post work out has a lot to do will how sore you get...
