I have seeds for Osmanthus fragrans,(sweet olive, tea olive) and I see that they can take a *very* long time to germinate... years, in fact. Has anyone done this? Is there something I can do to speed the process? I'm willing to experiment: boiling water, hydrogen peroxide, the old nick&soak, "smoke treatment," whatever. I can't find any information about this.
Thanks.

I don't think anyone is commercially producing them from seed. Growers raise them from cuttings. Search for the word cuttings on Yahoo!Answers. I think I have described the process of rooting cuttings at home several times on here. Take cuttings in summer. Be very patient. It can take 3 or 4 months.

You should buy a sapling and plant it if you want a tree - make sure it is a female so you can enjoy the perfume of the blooms.
