well, it partially depends on how old you are. also, your hormones have been regulated for 15 years, it takes awhile for your body to get back on track and used to doing things on it's own. it's not unusual to have irregular/abnormal periods for 3-6 months after stopping oral contraceptives.

It may take a bit or body to get back on track. I myself took the pill for about 4 yrs i believe and when I stopped it took a year before I got it again without pills.

i've heard it can take awhile, sometimes up to a year, for your period to be regular again, espcially if you've been on BC that long. I was on Depo for eight years and after two years of being off, I still only have a period that lasts all of one day. As long as you are otherwise healthy, don't sweat it.

If it isn't because you had unprotected sex and could possibly be pregnant (you can get pregnant right away after stopping oral bc) than it could be because your body is adjusting to the change in hormones. Call your ob/gyn just to double check that it's a normal occurance.
