There isn't any resort hotel in Butterworth my fren, if you intend to stay for a nice holiday, i suggest you go to Penang island where you can try out many resort hotels there.
Otherwise if you intend to have business meeting in B'worth, you may want to try Sunway Seberang Jaya or further to Bukit Mertajam there is Summit hotel (3or 4*) hotel.

You will need to stay in Penang which is just across the water from Butterworth. Here are a list of several hotels and resorts:

good hotel - only 1 , Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya, 3 to 4 star
resort - none
lousy hotel - many many
