If you take proper care of your body, its okay and of course if they pay you premium on top of your regular wages you are making more money. However, nobody knows about your future.

night shift could be really a hard time for some people. do you mean night shift just for a while of for as long as you're in that job? if just for a while, your body will definitely adjust to it, you'll just need to take iron supplements to boost your strength and vitamin C to boost your immunity, adequate fluids for hydration, and drink milk at daytime to help you sleep. and also take some time to relax like maybe jogging late afternoon, or dining out with friends so that you won't feel like missing out on all the daytime fun. it will definitely not affect your future. however, if it's for whole duration while you're on the job, if you're a night person then it would be no problem then if you're not, maybe you can talk it with your boss to assign you on a different shift after a while. you can ask for a doctor's certificate telling your boss that it's not good for your health to be on night shift.

I worked the third shift for four years, and it didn't affect me very well. I had very little energy and would have slept all day if I could have. It was difficult for my family as well, and didn't have a very positive effect on my marriage, although we got through it okay. That was me, though. I know some people who have worked the night shift for decades (my dad, for one) and have no problems whatsoever. You just have to listen to your body and your mental state, although it's a good idea to give it a few months to be able to really tell how it will affect you.

I've been on the night shift (6pm to 6am) for eleven years now. Don't see any health concerns yet, but it can screw with your social life, especially if you have a family and kids.

This all depends on how you adjust and what you do in the day for your own health, do you work out and eat right, do you get the late night snackies, what do you snack on, this all depends on what you do and how you handle the late shift

I worked overnights for several months - it wasn't high on my list of favorite things to do. I was able to get through it, but I was tired all the time. Even on my days off I spent most of the day in bed and was awake all night. I'm glad that I'm not doing that anymore.

when I worked night shift,
i had to sleep in day time, enough hrs to cover the lost at night.
anyway, i was obviouly getting weight by sleeping in day.
but u need to make sure the surrounding sounds / noises must not be there while day time sleeping.
