when i look into a mirror i dont look that bad... but when i see myself in a video camera movies home made ones or in pictures i look really hidious? like ewwww! why is this?

its like soo bad that i try to run aaway from cameras when their around me...i cant even watch my movie after

i have that problem too. i think its just because we're used to seeing ourselves at the same angle, but when we see different angles and profile shots in pictures and videos because theyre not all forward and eye level, that we're caught off guard at how different we look.

This is true. Because of a work related injury, in 1985, I was forced to have nerve blocks shot into my throat. When I walked out the door of the hospital, I knew that I would not look in the mirror again because the shot disfigured my face and my body expanded; believe it or not. A few months ago, I looked at pictures that had been taken of me since those shots. Ya know, I was not as ugly as I thought. However, I think I look ugly today but in ten years I will look at pictures and think that I am not as ugly as I thought, or that I think I am today. My grand kids think I am beautiful and what more could I ask?

I'm jealous of pretty girls, but even though I'm not gorgeous, I would still like to admit that I take a very very long time to get ready in the morning. I even get ready before I go to bed.
Honey, there's nothing wrong with you. I bleach my teeth, curl my hair, do facials, pluck my eyebrows, wax, tweeze, brush twice, floss, gloss my hair, leave conditioner on it for an extended amount of time, color my hair, got braces, use gentle self-tanners, etc... to get to look SOMEWHAT decent.
Can you seriously tell yourself that you've done all that? I don't think so, and be glad you don't. You are not as lame as I am..

It is because you are a moving beauty and dynamic. Photographs and video cameras also make normal people look 15 lbs. heavier than we all really are.
You are beautiful just the way you are.

I know how you feel!!!!! I hate seeing pctures of myself Very rarely do I find one that looks nice. I dont know what it is maybe we are just blind to our own uglyness and when we see pics of ourselves we get slapped in the face but a big wet fish - reality check - !
