whenever you are able and want? I kow they say that every other day because time is needed for sperm build up and it gives more likelihood that more sperm, better chance of more living to reach the egg... but, unless you are having trouble conceiving? it does not make sense to start following a "recipe"? and turning it into something less spontaneous... my opinion....
good luck

My husband just read recently that you can do it every single day and it does slightly increase your chances and doesn't really affect overall concentration of his lil "guys" enough to outweigh the whole "frequency" aspect of having sex every day. Bottom line...have more sex if you want to get preggo. Most fertile I believe on day 14 so like a week to 10 days after you get off your period I THINK. Of course I had 2 surprise babies on 2 different kinds of birth control both a day or 2 after the last day of my period. So Lord knows! I'm thinking just do it all the time till you get pregnant! LOL....that's what my hubby and I are planning on doing when he gets back from deployment. He's having the vasectomy reversal surgery to see if we can have a couple more kids after about 7 years and a change of mind. I'm excited. Good luck !

You are most fertile when you ovulate.
The object is for the sperm to get to the egg once it gets into your fallopian tube.
You ovulate normally about 2 weeks after the first day of your period, so you should probably try to conceive on day 11 to day 18.
Look into charting your basal body temp to see your personal patterns.

My doc actually recommended sex only every other day.

Every other day it not a myth. It is a well proven fact that having sex it just as if not more effective in getting pregnant. You partner needs time to produce more sperm. Work smarter not harder as they say. You may try taking your body basel temp every morning to determine if you are in fact ovulating and to get a feel of when each month you ovulate. This will be a great benefit!!

The "typical" ovulation day would be day 14 after the first day of period. You are most fertile 48 hours before and 24 hours after ovulation. I have only heard about doing it every other day if your partner has a low sperm count. (this is supposed to give his sperm a chance to build back up) Good Luck!

I heard that if you slept with a pearl underneath your pillow that you will become pregnant.

Have sex three times a week.

Having regular sex is the best way to get pregnant. Couples often try to time everything perfectly for ovulation but do not have sex when they think they are not ovulating. It is true that sex that is not within the time of ovulation will not result in pregnancy. However, because women do not always ovulate when they think they will, having sex three times a week will help to a woman cover her bases, so to speak, and not miss an opportunity to get pregnant.
