the formula is

°C = (°F − 32) ÷ 1.8

Begin by subtracting 32 from the Fahrenheit number.
Divide the answer by 9.
Then multiply that answer by 5.

Or use this formula: Tc = (5/9)*(Tf-32); Tc = temperature in degrees Celsius, Tf = temperature in degrees Fahrenheit

C = (F-32) x (5/9)
F = (9C/5) + 32

where,
C = Temperature in Celcius
F = Temperature in Fahrenheit

Tc = (5/9)*(Tf-32)

where Tf = temperature in fahrenheit, Tc = temperature in celsius

easy, the formula is C = 5/9 * (F-32)
e.x. 1 F=32 then C=5/9 * (32 - 32) = 5/9 * 0 = 0
e.x. 2 F=113 then C =5/9 * (113 - 32) = 5/9 * 81 = 45

here's a different way that is pretty easy to remember....

it helps to know that -40 degrees C is the same as -40 degrees F.

so add 40 degrees (to get to 0 in the example above)

and multiply by 9/5 to make the answer larger (C->F) or 5/9 to make the answer smaller (F->C).

finally, subtract 40 degrees.

you ALWAYS add 40 to start and subtract 40 to end, the ONLY difference is multiplying by 5/9 or 9/5, and you can figure that out because temps F are larger than temps C usually.
