its really hard to say how your body will bounce back... so you are on your third pregnancy? many women say that with each baby they get an extra 5 pounds that never seems to come off... but some women have an easier time losing the weight after each child.
i gained 55 pounds with my first child, and it took me almost a year and a half to lose all the weight. i lost about 40 pounds in the first 4 months, but it took much longer for that last 15. now, 2.5 yrs later, i am at 36 weeks with baby #2. I've gained 60 pounds already! wow. i am *hoping* the weight comes off much quicker this time, and i think it will since i have a 2 yr old to chase around as well as the baby.
so 55 lbs was the least amount i gained between two pregnancies. were you back to your starting weight before your second pregnancy, where you only gained 13 pounds? thats pretty uncommon to have such a different in weight gain between pregnancies. but if you hadn't lost all the weight from the first, its more understandable.
well the whole getting fatter thing really stinks, but babies are so worth it!
congrats on your soon-to-be-here baby! good luck!

Well i've been so sick and depressed this pregnancy that after I lost the 10 originally, i gained back a couple, but I think i'm right back down to 10 under what i was before. I eat what i can, but some days i just can't eat at all because i'm feeling so sick. Fortunately, every time i see the doctor she tells me the baby is growing nicely, my pressure's fine and baby's heartrate is fine, so hopefully everything will be ok (35 weeks now, counting the days...)
This is the information that I found on how the weight gain is distributed during pregnancy, so you can take the lower number of the things you are guaranteed to lose in the first 6 weeks, and know that you will probably at least be at a certain weight, maybe even lower!
Where Does the Extra Weight Go?
Baby
8 pounds
Placenta
2-3 pounds
Amniotic fluid
2-3 pounds
Breast tissue
2-3 pounds
Blood supply
4 pounds
Fat stores for delivery and breastfeeding
5-9 pounds
Uterus increase
2-5 pounds
Total
25 to 35 pounds

With my first I had a desk job and I gained 43 pounds , and it took forever to lose. While I was pregnant with my second, I worked out 3 days a week and only gained 25 pounds. I actually went into labor at the gym one day. The best part was that I lost 17 of it in the first 10 days because I was in such good shape during my pregnancy.

My best friend only gained 7 pounds and 12 pounds. Another friend gained 80 with each pregnancy. It's different for everyone.

I only gained 11 w/ my first(and only, for now anyways), and I lost 40 afterwards. The nurses were joking that pregnancy was an excellent diet aid for me.

I gained 20 with my first pregnancy. I'm 5'2". I hope I don't gain much more than 20 with this pregnancy. I'm only 5.5 weeks right now.

i have gained about 20lbs (9kgs) and am 36 weeks - I am quite content with this as it is within the average weight range and i feel like its mostly baby.
That is a big difference between your first and second.
